I’m not usually one to write reviews but the work that Goetz Contracting did was unbelievable. He brought to life my vision of a very detailed deck that would include detailed bordering, cedar cathedral ceiling, baby gate, lighting, electric and more. Mike was involved in every step of the process – him and his team were not only hardworking but so knowledgeable to help me with my questions.
I would highly recommend him as your contractor for any deck, roof, patio that you want done. Even our county inspectors commented on how unbelievable his workmanship was when they came out to inspect once the work was done. Mike was always professional, honest him and his team were pleasure to work with, it’s refreshing to come across a company where you feel like you got way more than you ever expected. We will be hiring him to finish our basement soon!!
Outstanding doesn’t even begin to describe the work that Goetz Contracting does!!! Mike and his crew takes such pride in the work that they do and the deck shows the quality work. We will use them again and again for other projects and have already referred them to a number of our friends and family. I think the thing that impressed me most is their attention to detail and that they built the deck as if it is going in their own home. The deck is so solidly built and it is built well beyond what code calls for. I am so impressed with the quality. Yet the price is so amazing!!! The crew was so friendly and cleaned up each night. They were at work on time each day and worked later than I expected! They communicated with us when they needed to cancel due to a rain day, and were back in right away the next day. They also kept pretty close to the time frame that he quoted us, especially when you take Mother Nature (rain delay) into consideration!! We have had more people comment on the quality construction and how beautiful our deck is. We are proud owners of this beautiful deck that Mike and his crew built. We can’t just say enough!!!
My wife and I had been wanting to have a deck built on the back of our home for some time. A few years ago, I bought myself a book called 1-2-3 Decks from Home Depot and had planned to build the deck myself. After pricing the lumber and materials and realizing that I would need the help of another person throughout the project and would also need to buy a number of tools that I didn’t already have, I realized that it would be easier and safer to have a professional build it for us. So we looked up several contractors on Angie’s List to come up with a list of deck builders that we would call for estimates. Being a huge skeptic, I wasn’t overwhelmingly certain that I would be able to pick the best contractor, especially being that the estimates were all similar. When Mike, the owner of Goetz Contracting, came out to our home, he stood out because he was the one contractor that didn’t seem at all frustrated that we didn’t know exactly what we wanted. Mike gave us a lot of ideas on size and function and he talked a lot about recommendations that would make the deck safe and sturdy. Mike and his crew ended up drawing up and building us a deck that included a spacious 24′ x 12′ main deck area, as well as a bending stairway with a middle landing and an additional 8′ x 6′ entry level landing.
Mike, the owner of Goetz Contracting, was prompt. He was at the house just one day after I called him for an estimate. Once we decided on hiring Goetz Contracting, it was only a few weeks and Mike had the materials delivered and the work started the following day. I was still skeptical before the first day, but once Mike and his crew arrived and went right to work, I could see that everyone was on the same page and they worked methodically from one stage to the next. Each day, Mike and his crew showed up promptly and went right to work. They stopped for lunch each day and got right back to work after lunch. They started on Monday and completed the deck early on Saturday. What really impressed me about Mike and Goetz Contracting was the craftsmanship that went into the construction. Each board that went up was measured carefully, placed carefully, and adjusted to the perfect position before fastened. It was as if he was being as particular as he would be if he was building this deck on his own house. Mike and his crew were not simply following minimum standards, they were going above and beyond what was required. As the deck went up, I noticed that our new deck was better fastened to our house than our neighbors decks, build with 6″ x 6″ support posts when some of our neighbors decks had 4″ x 4″ support posts. Mike had included 2″ x 6″ cap rails on the railings as well as riser boards on the stairs. As far as I’m concerned, our new deck is a masterpiece. I felt compelled to add a comment about Goetz Contracting because it’s hard to know what your getting from just one meeting with a contractor for an estimate. Although I did pick Goetz Contracting over the other estimates I got, I still wasn’t thoroughly certain that I was hiring the right company. By the time they had completed our deck, I wasn’t just satisfied with their work, I wanted to brag to everyone about them. If you hire Goetz Contracting to build a deck for your home, you will be thoroughly satisfied!

Goetz Contracting is an amazing contractor to work with. They are reliable, affordable, and most importantly create a well crafted work of art in all of their projects. This can be seen from the photos on their website as well as now my property. They hands down are the way to go when looking to enhance your home. Mike and his team are professionals, they communicate with the home owner and expressed tons of creativity when helping me decide on how I wanted my deck and patio to look. I always ended up taking their advice and it has paid off. I will certainly be using their services in the future and highly recommend them to others. The job isn’t complete until the customer is satisfied.

We were so pleased with working with Mike and his guys from start to finish. We found him on Angie’s List, and within a week of contacting him, we had met and received a bid. From start to finish the job took about 2 1/2 weeks, which we were pleasantly surprised with. We have 2 young kids and the guys were very nice and patient with them. They were always courteous and respectful with our house as well, and cleaned up the site every day before they left. We were so pleased with the new deck and the quality of their work that we are having them redesign our patio and redo a sagging retaining wall this fall. Many of our neighbors have commented on our beautiful new deck and have asked for their info! On a final note, there also was one instance when we had some bad wind that blew 1/3 of a tree into my driveway. My husband was not at home, and when the guys who were working in the back saw it, they immediately went to work with their saw and then drug all the branches to our backyard. I was very grateful as this probably saved me an emergency call to a tree service.
Michael was incredibly great to work with and his team was very professional and excellent at what they do. Their attention to detail was impressive and they were not satisfied until I was satisfied. At one point, early in the project, Michael noticed the rough-ins for the half bath were not to code and he came on a Saturday by himself and spent most of the day reconfiguring the plumbing to make it work…and he did this without charging me an additional fee. My kids and I will enjoy this new space for many years. I will definitely be contacting Michael for future work on my house.
